Most kiddies are big snackers therefore it’s always rewarding being able to give then something that is healthy & tasty. My homemade Peanut Butter & Cranberry Granola Bites have become the “go to” Crafty Treat in our home.
I actually have to stop the kiddies throughout the day from eating up all the bites. The idea to make these stemmed from a conversation with a friend. I mentioned that my kiddies loved granola bars and eat them daily. After she asked what was in the bars, I was beyond embarrassed when I started reading off the ingredients on the store bought box. For that point on, I vowed to always make our own granola bites, to ensure I know exactly what my kiddies are eating.
- 2 cups Instant Oats
- 1/2 cup Craisins
- 1/4 cup mini-chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
- Mix all ingredients in bowl
- Roll into balls *keep a bowl of water near, as wet hands make it easier to roll the balls*
- Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes to harden
I personally like to keep the granola bites in ziploc bag in the refrigerator for the kids to easily access at snack time. Also feel free to switch up the ingredients. We have also used raisins instead of craisins, and added cinnamon at times as well. Anyone with a peanut allergy could also try other butters. Have fun with the recipe to make it your own.
